Documents dartistes is located at la Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseilles.
Since 1992, this abandoned factory currently undergoing renovation has been home to artists and producers working around a dynamic of development based on creation and artistic production.
Sixty or so cultural structures (theater, music, dance, visual arts, etc.) work here. The La Friche la Belle de mai project was founded by the Système Friche Théâtre (president Robert Guédiguian, director Philippe Foulquié).
In the visual arts field, La Friche boasts a coherent proposition by hosting artists and structures such as Astérides, Documents dartistes, Sextant et plus, Triangle France and Vidéochroniques. All of these organizations develop singular and yet complementary propositions which include the diffusion of artistic creation, video and new media production, studio rentals, residencies, exhibitions, discussions, documentation.
La Friche also has its own gallery space.
La Friche is a 15 minute walk from the SNCF Marseilles Saint-Charles train Station.
Marseilles is a 3 hour train ride from Paris.
From city center, take the 49B Bus, and get off at the Jobin stop.
