Dr Katharina Fink is a curator, editor, and art researcher specializing in contemporary practices from Africa and the Global South. Since 2023, she has been Director of the Schloss Balmoral Artist Residency in Germany, where she fosters international exchange and critical reflection on the role of artist residencies today. Previously, she served as Deputy Director and Head of Programming at Iwalewahaus, the University of Bayreuth’s center for contemporary art and cultural research. She is also the co-founder and editorial director of Iwalewabooks, an independent publishing house dedicated to arts, literature, and critical thought from Africa and its diasporas. Her work engages with transdisciplinary curatorial research, postcolonial studies, and cultural activism, with a strong focus on alternative knowledge production and inclusive aesthetics. She is co-curator of this project.
