En 1989 Jean Digne, directeur de l'Institut français de Naples, propose à Max Charvolen une exposition dans un cycle de présentation d'œuvres négocié avec l'office régional de la culture de la région Provence Côte d'Azur. Charvolen demande de pouvoir réaliser l'œuvre in-situ, en faisant jouer un espace extérieur et un espace intérieur de l'institut.
In 1989 Jean Digne, the director of the French Institute in Naples, invites Max Charvolen to do a show within the context of a presentation of works negotiated with the Regional Office of Culture for the Provence-Côte d'Azur region. Charvolen asks to work on location by calling into play a space inside and outside the institute.
